Our family was in town for a family funeral so we were looking for a peaceful retreat in the water. What we found was so much more than that. We found a place of spiritual healing, joy and relaxation. You are just steps from the water with a large grassy yard, dock, large deck with plenty of seating to watch the fisherman and Canada right across the river! We were mesmerized each time a large freighter came by. The cottage itself is very roomy and comfortable, so quaint, fully stocked (even toys and games for kids) and we had room for all of our visiting family members. The greatest part of our stay was meeting the owners Pete and Karen. We have decided to adopt them into our family. Pete met us at 10 pm to check in and even helped us unload! We enjoyed his company so much that we invited him for dinner! These are EXCEPTIONAL people. Make a point to say hi to Sandy and Clancy (the super friendly neighbor pups) We were sad to leave but we will be back!!!

We loved everything about our stay. The home is beautiful and cozy and right on the water. The deck and outside area are lovely and relaxing. Inside is fully furnished with all you need for a great vacation. Pete and Karen are wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Overall, I can't say enough about our stay. Had a group stay for a fishing trip at "As Ships Go By". The home was well kept, nicely furnished, well thought out and everything we needed and more was waiting for us when we arrived. The home's location on the St. Clair River was convenient to area attractions and provided stunning views. The back yard goes directly to the river edge and a nice dock is provided. In addition, the owners were great people who were helpful with any questions we had about the local area. When travelling I generally try to rent this type of property, and have all over the country over the years. This was probably the best overall experience I have had with a vacation rental home. This property will be my "go-to" when in the Lake St. Clair area.

Truly a gem! Exceeded our expectations!
We booked in this location initially to include a day trip to Detroit. Well, once we saw the beautiful house and location, we knew we would want to enjoy the waterfront as much as we could and just take in the area shopping, dining, etc. We absolutely loved it!!!! Pete and Karen could not be more welcoming and accommodating hosts. The house was BEAUTIFUL, very clean and the view of the ships and river were amazing! We had 7 people in the house and never once felt crowded. There is a table right in the riverfront room so you can eat your meals and look out and enjoy the scenic view. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with pots, pans, spices, etc. There were games and puzzles to enjoy too which was nice for evening. Great book collection too! They thought of everything and so many great touches! Pete and Karen were kind to give us suggestions on places to see, dine, shop, etc. and really get a local flavor of this trendy area. You don't want to miss Marine City and this house is just 5 minutes from the downtown area. We were treated as friends, not "renters". What a wonderful find and we definitely want to come back for a longer stay. We had a tremendous time and wonderful, fun memories were made.
