There is no river like our own St. Clair
Go where you will, none other can compare.
Its sparkling, rippling waves are heaven’s own blue,
’Tis ever restless, changing in its view.
No poet’s pen with justice can declare.
The glory of our wonderful St. Clair

From a "History of the Saint Clair River, written for the centennial of the founding of St. Clair County on May 8, 1821"

sharing the river

The experience of seeing the St. Clair River for the first time, the feeling you get, is something special and unforgettable.   It's 1970,  Dad says we're moving to a place called Marine City, Michigan, a house on a river with freighters.   Enjoying the countryside drive down 26 Mile Road seemed like an eternity for my sister, but we finally arrived.  Our car rounded the curve north of town and there before our eyes, something so blue, something so beautiful, so alive!  The St. Clair River, mesmerizing to this day, almost 50 years later.

In the mid 1970's, my future wife's family purchased the duplex home south of town, right on the St. Clair River with no road to cross to get to the water.  Prior to 1940, a peninsula was built, reaching out further than any point on the river putting you right on top of the action. What great memories on the water!  In 2016 we purchased the property, refurbishing and decorating the north side duplex, into a 1900 square foot, 4 bedroom short term stay property and vacation rental.  Once you step through the door you'll know everything is right!  Once you step into the upstairs river room, you'll want to stay forever!    Inquire today for availability!

The St. Clair River is an experience.  If you've never seen it, you're in for a treat.  We were fortunate to grow up with some of the cleanest, freshest water on the planet.  Swimming on a hot day, late night float downs, fishing, water skiing or just relaxing watching the ships.   Let us know if you have a special interest.  There are ton's of things to do in the local area and we are happy to help you find an event or area attraction to fit your interest for an enjoyable stay.
